Legal
Terms of use
These terms govern your use of the website at harbourfirst.co.uk (the "site"). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. Who we are and our role
The site is operated by Harbourfirst ("we", "us", "our"). Harbourfirst is an introducer, not an advisor. We connect directors of UK companies in financial difficulty with regulated insolvency practitioners and solicitors. We do not provide legal, insolvency, financial or debt advice.
2. No advice and no reliance
All content on the site — including our guides — is general information about UK legal and financial processes, not advice about your circumstances. It may not be current, complete or applicable to your situation. You should not rely on it, and should take advice from a suitably regulated professional before acting. We are not responsible for any decision you take based on the site.
3. Introductions
If you contact us or submit an enquiry, you are asking to be introduced to a regulated firm. We may (but are not obliged to) introduce you to a firm we consider suitable. Using the site or making an enquiry does not create a contract for services or any advisory relationship with us. Any professional services are provided by the regulated firm under its own engagement terms and professional regulation, and any advice you receive is theirs, not ours.
4. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
5. Intellectual property
The content, design and branding of the site are owned by or licensed to Harbourfirst and are protected by law. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not copy, republish or exploit our content without our written permission.
6. Third-party links
The site links to external sites (for example gov.uk, legislation.gov.uk and The Gazette) for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content of any third-party site.
7. Availability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the site.
9. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
